Glen Walker, from Selwyn District Libraries, who co-ordinated the 2012 Conference informs that the Conference is likely to be held biennially in future, offered in the even year to the North Island Conference’s odd year. The 2014 Conference is likely to be hosted by Clutha District Libraries.]

9 March (Saturday): Archives and Records Association of New Zealand: School Archives Workshop 2013 (8:30am-4:30pm) Hamilton Boys’ High School, Peachgrove Road, Hamilton. Cost: $35. This year’s session deals with photographic collections – identifying, storing, conservation issues, looking after negatives and other media. 31 March – 19 April: Learning@School 2013 Roadshow: ‘Energise, enlighten, extend, empower’ This year Learning@School is taking to the road, visiting towns/cities where Core-Ed has been less accessible previously (see dates and venues at the end of this draft). 6 April: Storylines Margaret Mahy Day and AGM, Auckland. Held on the Saturday closest to Hans Christian Andersen’s birthday - 2 April) this Saturday event attracts children’s authors, illustrators, publishers and children’s literature ‘groupies’ from all around the country. The keynote speaker and winner of the prestigious Margaret Mahy medal will be announced in February.

11-12 April: Introduction to Archives Management, Dunedin. ‘When and how to start with archives management’. A two-day beginner’s course, covering all the basics of setting up an archive.
